Over the July 4th holiday weekend, I really needed and enjoyed a few restful days. Phew!
One of the highlights of the long weekend was spending a morning working out in the studio with my dear friend Elizabeth, followed by an afternoon lunch (egg salad on bialys,) then……a jigsaw puzzle!! We both find puzzling so relaxing and we really appreciate a colorful one to work on. This is my idea of a good time: working hard and playing soft.
As much as I enjoy rest and relaxation, I also love to spend time studying. (Plus it’s almost time to renew my certifications.)
Many of the expert teachers that I’ve learned from in webinars and courses also offer lots of free stuff. I’d like to share these goodies with you so that you can be inspired too…
#1 – Kara Lowentheil
I appreciate Kara Lowentheil’s podcast, UnF*ck Your Brain: Feminist Self-Help for Everyone so much and have gained invaluble insights from her feminist perspective.
I also bought her new bestselling book, Take Back Your Brain and am interested in initiating a book group to discuss! Let me know if this is something you’d be up for.
Kara Lowentheil is a former women’s rights lawyer and academic turned Master Feminist Coach on a mission to liberate women from the inside out.
#2 – Pelvic Mobility for Tight Hips
This was a free workshop offered by Threes Physiyoga to promote a new course in their membership. You can get this great content with a free 7-day trial.
I loved the introduction that explained reasons we might experience tightness in our hips based on pain science.
Diana Zotos Florio of Threes Physiyoga offers excellent movement guidance for all kinds of issues on Instagram. If you get on their mailing list, you’ll also receive free masterclass offers.
#3 – Margaret Martin’s Melioguide Building Better Bones Course for Professionals
I landed on Margaret Martin’s work online and watched several free resource videos while I was looking for a continuing education course on Osteoporosis. But there was a caveat at the end of the sales page for this course:
*Only licensed health professionals can purchase access to this course. Please Contact Us if you wish to purchase.
I’m not a licensed health professional but I still went ahead and bought this course. What a great choice! I’ve been learning so much and have been able to share important bone health info with my students.
Margaret Martin is a Canadian physical therapist and Osteoporosis expert. She offers a lot of great free resources on her site and on YouTube!
#4 – 3D Pelvic Floor Masterclass with Lauren Ohayon
Do yourself a favor and check out Lauren Ohayon ever-inspiring Instagram feed! I’ve taken a few free master classes with Lauren, who is a pelvic floor expert with a serious feminist lens.
Lauren Ohayon often promotes her Restore Your Core trainings with free offerings that are comprehensive and educational. Get her Free Mini-Training to learn pelvic floor mapping.
#5 – Power of the Tongue
I saw an advertisement for this on FB (or was it Insta?) and was intrigued because I hold a lot of tension in my jaw and tongue. When I saw it for a very reduced price of only $19, I signed up. This one-hour On-Demand online workshop showed me lots of interesting ways to move my tongue without moving my jaw. It was weird and wonderful. And worth the $19!
Susi Hately is yoga therapist that shares a lot on Instagram, a YouTube channel and a podcast for yoga teachers and health professionals who want to integrate yoga therapeutically (which I haven’t listened to yet), all free!
There’s a lot we can do to get inspired and support ourselves to move more at a minimal cost. Let’s get our MOVE on!!
